“There…in the trees…I can see them! Monkeys!”
The Monkey Scouting tour is one of our most popular activities, and the enthusiastic glee when someone first sees Nicaraguan monkeys in their natural habitat never gets old. Our guides will drive you throughout our 2,700 acres of property in comfort, stopping to point out a troop of monkeys (that’s the official term!) when they appear. Swinging through the tree canopy, you’ll witness howler monkeys (which are surprisingly loud), capuchin monkeys, the rare spider monkey, and more. Of course, this is no zoo, so we’ll endeavor to view monkeys in their natural habitat while always being respectful of their ecosystem.
But take as many photos as you’d like – and to answer our guests’ most popular question, NO, you can’t take one of the cute baby monkeys home with you!
Duration: About 1.5 hours
Bring: Just a water bottle, a phone or camera, and your excitement!
“Our time at Rancho Santana was exactly what we were looking for. In terms of activities we had a variety of choices every day. Body surf / surf in the perfect curls. Hike through the forested hill sides. Grab a mountain bike or horse and hit the trails. Truly top notch experience.” Frank Trotter
