Yin yoga is a passive style of yoga that is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to this ancient teaching, the body has 5 main meridians (energy lines) that are connected to certain organs and emotions:
– Heart & Small Intestine
– Lungs & Large Intestine
– Spleen & Stomach
– Liver & Gallbladder
– Kidneys & Urinary Bladder
In this practice, the poses are held for a longer period of time to create a deep release of the connective tissue that will support a healthly flow of energy throughout the body.
