FunLimon, a project funded by the Ford Family Foundation, is a community development across the street from Rancho Santana that provides youth and adult educational and recreational programs, resources and facilities for the local area. On land donated by Rancho Santana, the Ford Family Foundation has independently funded the construction of a community center featuring a professional-level baseball stadium, a regulation-sized soccer field, an innovative playground, and a recreation and fitness center, complete with basketball courts and state-of-the-art exercise equipment.
As a community member, we recognize the importance of building relationships and supporting community-driven projects that benefit the local area as a whole, beyond our physical borders. At no charge, all Rancho Santana owners, renters and guests are welcome to use the community center’s gym facilities and participate in a variety of fitness classes, activities and sports.
We encourage guests to make use of these facilities, as sports and recreational activities promote cross-cultural exchanges that can benefit everyone in the community. Start a game of pick-up basketball and practice your Spanish as you make new friends, or simply take in a youth league soccer or baseball game and cheer for home team.
To help empower the local community with practical skills that can provide further wealth-building opportunities, the community center also offers a substantial English language program, a literacy program that is coordinated with the government’s literacy program, and will soon offer vocational training. The FunLimon community center also houses three classrooms, including a fully equipped computer lab to teach language skills and other skills using the internet and computer programs.
